June Wagaki Murage
I am a Construction Project Manager by profession though I do a bit of crafts mostly in DIY décor, arts and design during my free time.
I have volunteered through exchange programs when I was in AISEC JKUAT. My first was in Brazil where I taught language literacy and another in Rwanda where I was an entrepreneurship facilitator teaching in Kigali Institute of Management. I have also worked with An Honest Intention (AHI) in Kenya where I volunteered as a mentor.
I am one of the Co-founders of Volunteers for Kenya (V4K) and Director of Technobrain Project meaning am in charge of all tech and IT developments that V4K establishes. My objective is to promote science culture, relative to innovation and infrastructural development.
I am inspired by simple messages. One of my favorites is by Shia LaBeouf “Just Do it”. Yes, I’m familiar with the Nike slogan, but have you seen this version? Very inspiring. A policy I call KISS– Keep It Simple Stupid, and ‘Just Do It’. At the moment, the boys from Young Life Africa are my inspiration. Seeing them make the most of what they have inspires me to do the best, with all the opportunities around me. When it comes to people, my mother is my biggest inspiration. Even when I don’t believe in myself, she has been there to push and encourage me. I think she is the only person who knows my full potential.
My message to Kenyans “Giving back is always in style ~ stolen.”
